I wrote this at a waiting room today on my cell phone.

She pressed her ear against the wall, begging for some sign of life. She finally heard the familiar whistling smile of a man. She hated that regular satisfied tune, and the broken noes that hung in the dry, still air. Eventually she'd get sick of pacing and staring, and drowning herself in her loneliness. When she knocked on the thick brick walls and yelled for attention, the sound waves would disappear and the heavy weight of the walls would laugh at how she was so sincere. She felt like evaporating, leaving the tasteless scent of self pity behind. She wanted to be erased, to go missing because she felt so worthless in the emptiness. He was so confident and she was so lost in his love. For himself. She eventually lost touch with the monotonous life she lived. All the friendships she faked, all the dreams she dozed through. The lie she lived was real. And in his deadly embrace she'd weep into the ocean and beg for his light because it was the only way she could survive. And after all the shame and pain it was only now that she realized that this is how beautiful life was in the back of his head.

Today is a lot better . Highlights of my week include:

The Portland based indie band ''Portugal. The Man'' Their latest release The Satanic Satanist is on the very top of my 'feel good music' list at the moment. You can listen to the entire album on their myspace page.
My favorite tracks include 'The Sun' and 'Everyone is Golden'

Public Enemies: Starring Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard (who so happened to kick ass as Edith Piaf, a well deserved Oscar), Christian Bale. Christian Bale blew it, his accent was completely off in many scenes. Nonetheless, the movie had the right blend of realism and 21st century magic, portraying the era with some dignity.

And last but not least, Eightball, by Daniel Clowes. One particular comic that I was completely captured by is Like A Velvet Glove Cast in Iron. I did some research and found that a musician under several aliases which include Victor Banana, Neil Smythe and Tim Hensley released an album based on the comics. Kind of impossible to find online because the fabulous man decided that his work should never be rereleased, and for him to just fall off the face of the universe. That was his plan. However, Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron can be found on amazon.com as well as some of his work on cdbaby.com Anyway, my point was Eightball. Eightball is vicious and haunting. It evokes paranoia, but not so much confusion, which simply reminds me of some of the reasons I fell in love with Ghost World.

Couture: Crisitian Dior Fall 09

Come along, we're having a little garden party. We'll drink tea and wine, gossip with and about one another. We might later slowly undress and find ourselves in our knickers, but that's okay, this happens at every other garden party. I'm hardly phased. Perhaps we'll go shopping later.

Old Hollywood glamour meets kinky housewife. Puffy skirts, petticoats, skirt suits and lingerie. This collection is especially colorful, compared to most of what I've seen around this season. It also has that signature Dior elegance that can be found in the pinks and creams. What is especially delightful about this collection is that there is plenty of ease around the pieces when assembling an outfit. Literally interpreting the pieces from the runway is hardly ever necessary, yet this collection has the weight of being incomplete, which completely works to their advantage.

This is one of a series of reviews related to all the couture shows that have been going on this season. I thought best to start when it all ended, the begining of the end?
I'll start off with Chanel and work my way out...

Chanel Fall 2009 Couture
Alot of the starter peices included a pair of fabulous floral-lacish stalkings, that worked perfectly with suit/skirt peices, except for this particular coat, it looks a bit awkward.
Nevertheless, the length of the coat is just right, it does not however work with the stockings. Great peices, weird combo.
An excellent example of the stockings being incorporated into the outfit is in this peice:
The show explored different themes, such as the above business woman/working girl routine, a bit of old Hollywood glamour in one of my favourite peices in this show:

Not to mention some Audrey Hepburn action in this one:
There is an important issue I need to address with this show, and its the total FAIL trails in several peices. For example:

The trail is completely awkward and out of place, its just...attached. THATS a total fail. Sorry Karl.

However some A+ work is here:
The backdrop is just perfect, and the look is extremely polished and complete. My second favourite peice in this show, LOVE IT.
Further excellance in this peice of work, I cant wait to see it on the red carpet :)

The show concluded with a vegas weddingesuqe couple which reminded me of prom... Does the model give off a pregnant vibe, or is it just me thinking babies?

Lets scream and float.

I'm currently listening to the Best of Patsy Cline, and altough I'm not setting the mood for anything romantic, its calming me down, and it helps clear my mind. You know what else helps clear my mind? Bob Dylan's latest album Together Through Life.

I got the album as an early birthday present for myself a few weeks ago (something I've never done before). Before purchasing it I managed to have a listen to the track "I feel a change comin' on". Perhaps Obama-inspired? Anyway, it cleared my head so well, I was on a cloud. Dylan's raspy and faded voice has never been more clear, and he speaks of our time and state, enchanting with a subtle familiar and homesy feel.

I'm a hardcore Dylan fan, dont mess with me. We're going to be together and no one is stopping me. The album holds the ability to put you in your groove and make you smile. Its nothing like his classics, his sound on Together is clearly alot more 'developed'. Its still the cozy familiar feeling of Bobby D's embrace.

I was on my way to Niagra Falls from Waterloo, but on the way we had to stop at Milton to pick someone up. Along the hour long drive, I feel asleep, the sun warming up my left cheek.I had a dream. A rather unusual one, which included Peaches Gedolf blabing over a couple of loud speakers behind her. She was telling me something unimportant, when I suddenly jumped out of my slumber and looked out the window and saw the Nylon tour bus whizz by. I had to slap myself a few times to fully comprehend how that happened. My mother also asked me, how did I know the bus passed by while I was asleep. Peaches?

ilovedust: A team of artists/illustrators from the super adorable Kidrobot are a part of ilovedust that produce some seriously adorable art. Cuteness happens to be something I take very seriously, and they've mastered it.

ZOOT: I don't remember how I ran into this one, but I'm so so glad I did. ZOOT is an independent magazine featuring Portuguese art fashion and music. The photographs are exquisite and beautiful. Unfortunately the distribution is limited to only NYC, London, Paris, Portugal and Tokyo. Nevertheless, you can view issues of the magazine on their website.

Let me just say that the fashion and photographs in this is heavenly, so be careful.

B+F= A REVIEW

Went to the roadside diner for my friend's birthday yesterday. There has been some hype about the place, and coincidentally I've been craving a hamburger for a while now. Hamburgers can fulfill one of your greatest desires. Did B+F fulfill mine?

First of all, I can not even recall the name of the meal I ordered from the "food encyclopedia", I was so into eating it to bother. You can decide on having a full-on burger or have it into two mini burger which I think is super cute. When I first saw the mini burgers, I thought that they were way too small, but they were very filling.

The appetizers where cool too, I loved the nachos, and I cant remember what the fries tasted like, but I'm sure it was good :)
However, the only drinks included in the menu are fizzy drink, which I dont drink. So boo you, B+F for that!

The best thing about the place is the service. The guys there are so ADORABLE and hospitable, I wanted to quit school and join them. They sang for my friend, and also made her a card from one of the napkins. Yeah, and we also gave some of them nicnames because they are THAT cute : Raj, Anna ( thats her actual name :P) and V.

Would I go again? Of course.

Jessica Lee Mayfield completes-what I consider- a haunting moment in this episode. This episode being the 18th in season 2 of Gossip Girl. When Serena first sees Dan and Ms Witch at the coffee shop, Kiss Me Again is playing inside the shop. It then blends in with on of the instrumental theme songs on the show, and for about 3 seconds there is a moment of truth. Although it may be tainted, it does foreshadow coming events. The music blends back into the coffee shop, alongside an awkward hug-attempt from Dan, which gets interrupted by Ms Carr's insane sense of urgency throughout the entire episode.

What is it about her? She constantly seems desperate and pathetic, socializing with a teenager. First of all, get friends your own age. Secondly, bitching and whining about being an outsider only makes you more of an outsider. She is so irksome. I did however feel (yes, I feel!) sorry for her when she came out of the hall in tears, "they fired me".

The episode lacked the most entertaining aspect of all: Serena's boobage action. BUT, I could have sworn there was a tinsy bit at the start, besides that-yawn. Also, how unrealistic was Blair at her "darkest hour"? Leighton Meester would have pulled the 'single tear' stunt she so beautifully mastered. Give that girl an Emmy.

Dan and Serena break up. (Yes!) It was only a matter of time. Now, all we need is for Serena to meet and fuck her half brother, before she realises who he is and kills herself!

In other news, Chuck gets some (barely). What was up with that storyline? Bloggers in the bloggesphere suggest that she may have gotten killed. But I think they have underground torture prisons for night-time nanny whores like Elle. This may/may not get juicy.

Also, Nate and Vanessa proceed to hog screen time with their stupidity. Why did Chuck call them all the way there anyway? Stupid.

Finally, Dan and Ms Carr get a good night's fuck.
Dude, Ms Carr is short!!

Can we wait for the next episode (18)? No! But we'll have to, seeing as it will air on the 3rd of March.

Hills Bros Cappuccino

I'm a devoted cappuccino drinker. It was around 4 years ago when I started. Today? I'm still sipping the same brand. If you havent drunk Hills Bros Cappuccinos, then you know nothing about life. Although the bitches decided to change into this hideous and useless package, I'm still a sucker for it.
I've tried almost all the flavours, so here is your review, bitch :

1. Double Mocha: Its a delicacy. It has become a regular, and I drink 1-3 times a day. Its good enough to become a routine for me for four years, so its REALLY worth trying.

2. French Vanilla: This is one of the best. It would have a tie with Double Mocha at the number one spot, but you shouldn't try exhausting the French Vanilla, its far too special for that. Also, they've got decaff, fat-free, and carb wise. But I've only tried the regular, what kind of fool do you think I am, drinking decaff?

3. White Chocolate: Its great shit. I mean, its different and not like any ordinary flavour you'd get from a coffee shop. I especially like this one because it leaves this amazing aroma in the room. I mean they all do, bit this one could be turned into a candle scent (i think it has, god, I'm such a loser). So, yes, this one is fabulous.

4.English Toffee: Honest to god, this is the shittiest flavoured beverage I've ever had. And to add to that is the fact that it doesn't smell too good. I am personally insulted that this flavour exists, and that its on the shelves. I bought this once, and it was a disaster. I ended up preparing it for my all-nighters so it could keep me up from how shitty it tasted.

This show is a lot more focused in terms of the medical cases, instead of getting so technical and dramatic about the character's personal lives, like for example in Greys Anatomy. To balance out all the medical stuff, is the wit and character of Dr. Gregory House. He has his own techniques of working things, and handling people. With his motto "everyone lies", he lives his life vicariously through sabotaging those around him. Besides being a rock star, he is a genius and possibly the best fictional doctor EVER.

Soap: Gossip Girl
This show has perfect timing, because I'm basically growing with it. It started off with the characters in the 11th grade and so was I. For a really long time I was a MAJOR fan of the books. I had them all. I read them all. I craved for more. When the novels finally ended, I wasn't sad because I sort of had enough.
As a devoted fan I constantly looked the book up and stuff, news came that there would be a movie starring Lindsey Lohan. I wanted to die.
But thankfully that did not happen. Instead, the brilliant mastermind behind that wreck of a television show- The O.C. decided to put it on the small screen.
Besides being thankful, I'm content with how it all turned out. Its nothing like the books, but the show is far from bad. Fashion is great, characters are strong, New York city if perfect and all together you have a pleasurable show.

Kathy Griffin is one of my favourite people. I think I may be in love with her. She is so outspoken, and always tells the truth. I love how honest and raw she can be. And she does it so glamorously as well. The thing that me and Kathy have in common is that we are obsessed with celebrities and pop culture. Her Bravo specials are classic. The fabulous thing about it all is that she is the best and most realistic insider into celebrities' lives. Its all the dish and dirt behind the scenes your wonder about. Plus, you have this funny sex kitten to tell it all.

#2 Project Runway
Fashion designers Competing. What a brilliant idea. Its great to see the entire process getting documented, and presented each week. I love this show, because its REAL and HAS A POINT. It shows hard work, dedication and talent. I think kids would learn a lot more about life watching a reality show like Project Runway besides The Hills and Laguna Beach. Besides, Tim Gunn is a total DARLING, and its fun to make fun of Heidi Klume's accent, even though we all want her life and legs.

Bravo!

Crime: Law and Order: SVU
I'm not obsessed with rape, but of all the crime series I've watched in my life time, its the Law and Order Series that actually get me up just to watch them. I never followed any crime show this closely. I used to be really into CSI (Vegas), but my heart belongs to SVU. Not only is it set in New York City, but its the attachment to the main characters that you develop without realizing. You can honestly get deep into the cases, and maybe even learn something.

Gossip/News : The Soup with Joel McHale
Joel McHale is a saint. Not only does he watch all the shows we are afraid to watch, or we do already watch (secretly or otherwise), but he manages to be hilarious and all round good looking throughout. I don't know HOW he does it, but I think everyone that watches the soup owes him a big hug. The show can poke fun at a scene in a show you watched in a way you might have missed. Its simply hilarious. They go through all the soaps, talk shows, celebrity dish, the lot. And did I mention that its hilarious? Its so fucking funny, I can't help but wet myself. The Soup, on the network we all adore-E!

Cartoon/animated series: Cow and Chicken
A classic Cartoon Network cartoon that was cancelled-slash-banned. Its fast and silly. Everything happens so quickly and retardedly, you take that and add a sissy cow and stupid chicken,a perverted devil/ red thing that walks on his butt (and I strongly think is a child molester), and humans' feet and you have spectacular show!

Talk Shows: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
Besides being one of the funniest people living at this present time, Craig Ferguson is a rock star. He is smart, witty and a vivacious little devil of a thing. Every week, he drags his hooker ass on the set and gives it his all. Who am I kidding? He doesn't even try! He is stunning. Simply gorgeous.
He is a beast.

2.Jovovich-Hawk : A duo fashion team, these partners started off as models together then began their own line. I mainly was impressed by their fall collection this year. You'd probably be familiar with Milla Jovovich as the lead actress from Resident Evil, unfortunately Jovovich-Hawk ceased operations earlier this year.

3. A new designer this year is Erin Fetherston. She have very feminine pieces,that are light and effortless. Here is her talking about the inspirations behind her fall collection. Its hard to see her inspirations really being incorporated into her designs, but otherwise, her fall collections-which I loved- was very cohesive.

4. Coming out on the 1st of January this coming 2009 is Courtney Love's new album Nobody's Daughter. I'm really looking forwards to this album, she has been working on it for almost 6 years, and some of the tracks that are supposedly going to be on the album sound really good. She started recording around 3 months after coming out of rehab, The Return of Courtney Love is a documentary depicting 3 weeks of her record-making process after returning back home in LA. I can already feel like this album is going to be BIG. Can't wait!

5. Quintin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards is a remake of the classic war movie, starring Brad Pit, which will 'supposidly' premier sometime in 2009. Its still filming at the moment, but i'm loooking forward to it :)

Madonna's "re-invetion" tour is one of the most earned tours of 2004. Its no surprise that the documentary earned a Grammy in 2007. I love Madonna, but even if i didnt, you simply can not deny the fact that this documentary is purely spectacular.

Thriller: Grindhouse: Death Proof

I'm not sure what it is about this movie that makes me feel so comfortable. I have no idea why I filed it under "thriller", I guess it should be "crime", but that doesnt matter. I was making a point. Oh yeah. There is something comforting about this movie, I could watch it repeatedly all day. Weird movie to see in that way. All the Quintin Tarantino stuff is in it, empowering woman...feet.

Satire: Natural Born Killers

By far one of the best movies I've ever seen. This prolly needs a proper review on its own.

Starring: Woody Harrelson, Juliette Lewis, (almost forgot) Robert Downey Jr, Tommy Lee Jones

Drama: Magnolia

I took this specific movie as an example in my theatre arts class when studying Brecht, so in many ways I dont think I should classify this movie under "drama", but I dont think I have any other choice. Think this specific movie, not necessarily changed my life, because I dont see how it could, but it changed me as a person. The movie is so overwhelmingly profound, I'd feel insulted if certain people watched it.

Nine lives interwoven and linked together, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson (who by the way, has some great ass. Here's an interview with him)

The first five seconds is Chuck falling asleep in what seems to be an opium den wearing some sort of kimono-slash-robe, while an Asian female (who is an all-too-obvious prostitute)gets things "down and running". All of this obviously indicates that Chuck-Chuck is after his usual remedy: girls. Then we have two seconds of Serena being pouty. Fabulous. Then there is a shot of Blair looking wonderful, as usual. This is followed by a dazzling man walking in purposefully saying "Jack Bass, Chuck's uncle". Oh yay! I hope he's hot :)
Then we've got a shot of Blair looking naturally fabulous, while Chuck is surrounded by a number of burlesquing sluts. And I'm guessing the next episode's drama-drama set will be Victrola.
At 0:15 Serena apparently 'finds' something (are those drugs?!) and Rufus walks in. Hey, what happened with that mega douche?
Chuck drops a bottle, Blair screams. Faaaabulous.

Gossip Girl : O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

Another fabulous instalment in the best show ever. First of all, I simply adore how Gossip Girl's opening narration sounds like E! giving you the latest dish on celebrity hook-ups, because even during these grieving times, Gossip Girls is able to make Bart's decaying corpse sound sexy and scandalous.

Perhaps Bart Bass wont be missed, mainly for being creepy in a boring way, however I would rather Vanessa die instead, but you don't always get what you want. Conspiracy theories concerning Bart's death are as follows: Bart seemed to pass away minuets after hearing the Lily's 'secret', which is strange seeing as the private detective he hired would have been in the accident as well, as they were in the same car. Is it possible that Bart couldn't bear having Lily in love with Rufus, Chuck a total failure, Serena hating his guts, and a fag for a step-son that actually admires him? And all that money, *sigh* what a burden. I think he might have committed suicide, or staged the accident.But IF BB does come back, I hope he comes back to murder Lily and/or Rufus (or maybe Vanessa for being such a ho! AHA! must contact GG writers!!). Then again, why would Bart leave all that money to a slut like Lily?

Oh, yeah! and incest is "in" again! WOO? Do we have to go through this again? Its pure torture. Dan and Serena are a strange couple to begin with. Serena is simply not Dan's type.By "Dan's type" I mean a merge between Vanessa and Aaron's ex (that chick that dissed Serena(E12), and it was too cool to handle). Serena is blond and pouty. They just don't fit! Also, seeing as Serena doesn't really have a type and humps the first guy she sees(or doesn't). Its all just one hot mess with Dan and Serena and Aaron (practically not existing at this point) and their parents all humping one another. Its just to repetitive and queasy at this point. But what I do love is when Dan turned back to return the muffin and ditched Serena. In some way it reminded me of the infamous "wave" back in season one.

How the hell did Jenny create a dress in 10 mins? She should compete in Project Runway.

Might I add that even when he's stone-cold drunk Chuck Bass is still the 'oh-so hot' Chuck Bass:

"shove it up your hairy ass" or something along those lines.. ;)
But he did look a bit Robert Pattisony, which happens to be "in". Baby, whats in is out, don't fall for it.

The twist in the end was lame. I hated it. I don't want to discuss it.
But seriously?! Couldn't the writers be a little more creative? They got Serena to KILL someone last season. Couldn't they have Lily have some sort of prostitution stint at some point when she was estranged from Cece, and had to gather cash? (which she probably would have been, Cece is controlling, manipulative and hell for a mother). A love child means (a) new character(s) in the show, which should be fun.
I just hope someone humps Dan. And maybe Jenny.And for Eric to find love. And for Chuck and Blair to be together. And for Vanessa to die.
